Take the steaks out of the bag and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Season each side of the steaks with The Carbon Bar’s Steak Spice. Cook the steaks for 6 minutes per side for medium rare and then let the steaks rest for 5 minutes. Finally, slice against the grain or you can serve them whole.
Pan Seared Method:
Take the steaks out of the bag and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Season each side of the steaks with The Carbon Bar’s Steak Spice. Heat your skillet to high or until it’s nearly smoking and be sure to turn your fan on! Add a bit of vegetable oil and place the steak directly into
the pan. Sear each side for 5 minutes and add a tablespoon of butter to the pan. Spoon the frothing butter over the steak a few times and then take the steak out of the pan to rest for 5 minutes. Finally, slice against the grain or you can serve them whole. Add the peppercorn sauce for extra pan flavour and heat it quickly.
Preheat the oven to 400°F and take the potatoes out of the bag. Place the potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment and spread the potatoes evenly. Bake them for 7 – 9 minutes or until they are hot and crispy. Finally, add salt and pepper to your liking!
Pour the sauce into a small saucepan and set your heat to medium until it comes to a simmer. Once the simmer is achieved, turn off the heat and pour directly on top of the steak.
Plating and Building
Put the potatoes on a plate, then add the sliced or whole cooked steaks to the plate and pour the peppercorn sauce over. Be sure to take a picture for your social media!
